Use of the open-EIS eLearning system for the consulting physician advanced training |
In the sight of the fast progress of science the consulting physicians are claimed to study further with the help of the most modern knowledge intermediation. For the performance of the advanced training measures which are regulated by law the innovative didactic methods (Blended Learning) are also used for the medical advanced training. Physicians who are obliged to study further have to prove the participation on advanced training events annually. They have to demonstrate the corresponding advanced training points (CME points) at the authorized Chamber for Physicians. After the acquisition of 150 CME points in 3 years the physician gets an advanced training certificate and therewith documents its up-to-date knowledge. The "Working group Bipolar", an incorporation of nameable physiatrists and experts under the control of Prof. Dr. med. W. Greil from the sanatorium Kilchberg in Switzerland developed, in this context, an innovative scientific-neutral advanced training concept (Blended Learning) for physiatrists and neurologist throughout Germany to the topic spectrum of "Bipolar diseases". The model project contains the combination of web-based training, issue-based learning and presence phases . The project is executed from the beginning of the year up to December in different Federal States and already enjoys a great demand. The all in all three Blended Learning courses (duration per course ca. 10 weeks) contain a large eLearning contingent. The physicians study further, time-independent and self-controlled, via a learning platform http://www.campus-psychiatrie.de/fobi/
The entire model project is accompanied and evaluated scientifically by Prof. Greil and Prof. Mandl (Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich). After the end of the evaluation and analysis of the results this model project could set a milestone in the medical progress – not only in the field of psychiatry.
